Obituary
Shane Everette Eskridge was born on April 20, 1973 to Larry Eskridge and Deby Martindale Eskridge (Merriam) in Craig Colorado. Shane left this world much too early at age 48 on November 5, 2021 with his family by his side. Shane grew up in Routt County Colorado riding horses, motorcycles, snow mobiles, and camping with his sister, many cousins and childhood friends. He attended and graduated from Hayden Schools and later relocated to Canon City.
In his early years in Canon, Shane worked heavy equipment construction and was a superintendent for Avalanche Excavation for many years. Shane met his wife Dr. Lisa in 1997 and they were married in 2003. Shane and Lisa quickly realized their mutual passion for helping animals and veterinary medicine. They decided to open their own practice in 2006. Shane studied to become a veterinary assistant and manager then achieved his degree in Equine Dentistry. With a 3 to 5 year plan to allow Shane to slowly leave construction and move to full time at the clinic, the practice grew quickly and within just a year Shane was full time at Eskridge Vet Clinic and worked by Lisa's side until his passing.
Shane and Lisa raised their son Trevor and daughter Morgan in Canon City. They were also blessed to later adopt two more sons, Christian and Isaac Stringer. Shane and Lisa were partners in business, partners in parenting and most of all, partners in life. He enjoyed camping with his family, team roping, shooting, and he always loved a good prank. He never missed a "Daddy Daughter" dance and he was blessed to be able to perform the marriage ceremony for his son Trevor and new wife Cassie earlier this summer. Shane will be remembered by so many for his infectious laughter, kindness, soft heart, and love of little kids & animals.
Shane was preceded in death by his grandparents and his son Christian. He is survived by his father Larry (Jennifer), mother Deby, sister Tami, wife Lisa, son Trevor (Cassie), daughter Morgan, son Isaac (Drea), four grandchildren (Isaac) and many Aunts, Uncles, cousins and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday December 11th, 2021 at 2:00 PM in Canon City at Mountain View Community Church located at 200 Justice Center Rd.
