Shane Michael Pyper, 40, of Omak, WA passed away on Saturday, October 5 in a single vehicle accident.
Shane was born on January 29, 1984 in Omak, WA to his parents Brian Pyper and Julie Davis-Pyper. He had the same birth date as his great grandfather, Walter Davis, who was 75 years old when Shane was born. Shane had twin brothers, Jared and Todd, that were 3 ½ years older.
Shane excelled at sports in school. He played baseball from T-ball on and he was a pitcher in high school. He also played offensive center and defensive end in high school football. Shane and the Omak high school football team went to the state championship playoffs during his junior and senior years and they won the AA state championship in his junior year.
Shane was an avid outdoorsman. The whole Pyper family loved skiing and they all became accomplished skiers. He loved hunting, fishing, and hiking with his dad and brothers and sometimes his grandfather Dale Davis and his uncle John Davis would be with them.
After high school graduation, Shane went to Wenatchee Valley College and enrolled in the Radiologic Technology program. He completed the 3-year program and then did his clinicals at Kadlec Medical Center in Richland, WA. After clinicals he was hired by Kadlec and worked there for a time. He returned to the Okanogan Valley and took a position at North Valley Hospital in Tonasket. For the past 13 years, Shane was the manager of the Radiology Department at North Valley Hospital. He was well liked and highly respected in the workplace.
Shane is survived by his two children, Alex 12 and Remi 10, by his parents Brian and Julie Pyper, by his brothers Jared and Todd Pyper, by his grandmothers Doreen Davis and Pat Pyper, and by many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Shane was a big man with an equally big heart. He was loved by many and he gave lots of love back. He was funny, smart, devoted, capable, brave, and loving all at the same time, every time you saw him. Shane will be dearly missed by all of us. He left us too soon but we will always remember all the good times we had with him.
There will be a celebration of life with a meal provided at his parent's home at 40 Hopfer Road, Omak, WA on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at 2:00 pm for friends and family.
