SHANE LAWRENCE TURCOTTE, 61, beloved husband of Sandra Lee Turcotte, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 1, 2025.
Shane was the son of Elaine Turcotte and the late Robert Turcotte. He grew up in Deerfield Beach, Florida, and lived there until moving to Aiken, South Carolina, in 1999 with Publix Supermarket.
Shane was a humble, loyal family man. He was an avid fisherman who loved camping adventures. He also enjoyed gardening and landscaping. He was passionate about classic cars and a proud member of the Aiken Horsepower Car Club. His favorite holiday was Thanksgiving. For the past 25 years, he had hosted family and friends for a three-day celebration. His home fondly became known as “The Magical Place Called Thanksgiving.”
He is survived by his loving wife, Sandra; step-sons Josh Wharton (Erica) and Chris Wharton, both of Aiken; three grandchildren, Joshua, Blake, and Naomi; two sisters, Amanda Ternus (Tom) of Deerfield Beach, FL, and Missy Guptill (Matt) of Fort Mill, SC; and six nieces and nephews, Shane Robert Guptill, Alexander Guptill, Emily Lucas, Gillian Ternus, Thomas Ternus, and Sarah Ternus.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home, with The Rev. Brad Willis officiating. A reception will follow at the funeral home. Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home, 715 East Pine Log Rd., Aiken, SC.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Arbor Day Foundation at arborday.org.
