Shannon Rose Parsons Bruderer was born to Albert Raymond Parsons and Mabel Bernice Bedwell on April 27, 1942, in Springfield, Bingham County, Idaho. Shannon was one of eight children born to Albert and Mabel and the last of the Parsons clan siblings to leave this earth. She passed away on July 8, 2024, surrounded by family at The Gables in Blackfoot, Idaho. She married the love of her life, Arvil Dean Bruderer, and they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in February of this year. Two children, Travis Dean and Tana Lynn, were born into this union.
Shannon graduated from Butte High School in 1960 and then attended a business school.
Her first Job was as a switchboard operator with the local telephone company. She then became one of the original Idaho National Laboratory (INL) operators, where she connected many party lines for work and other social engagements, being the catalyst for helping individuals connect.
Shannon met Dean in Idaho Falls, ID, and brought him home for Christmas in Arco, ID. The rest is history.
Shannon was known for being a beautiful person inside and out. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping outings. A highlight of her life was the Parsons musical gatherings and the Bruderer yearly reunions, filled with activities, games, raffles, a quilting legacy from her mother-in-law, Anna, and campfire sing-a-longs.
She was known for her handiwork and was always seen with a project to keep her busy while the menfolk hunted and fished. She possessed skills in tatting, crocheting, sewing, and embroidery, which she passed on to her daughter, Tana. She enjoyed her weekly sewing group meetings with her daughter and friends. She and Dean have made and shared quilts with others, who kept them prized possessions.
She became interested in elephants and amassed an extensive collection of figurines as she, her family, and friends traveled. She also had a heart of gold for feeding and caring for stray cats. Other favorite pastimes are driving down the road and listening to recordings of Dennis Bruderer or other country western music.
Shannon was raised in the LDS faith in her younger years and most recently attended the Lost River Bible Church in Arco, ID, with Pastor Keith Stayman.
Shannon is survived by her devoted husband, Dean, of Arco, ID, son Travis (Valerie) Bruderer of Belfair, WA, Stepdaughter Sarrah (James) Mayfield of Maricopa, AZ, stepson Mark (Melissa) Ostler of Calverton, NY, and Orem, UT, son-in-law Edward Beverly, of her late daughter Tana Lynn (Bruderer) Beverly, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her Bruderer in-laws Wesley Bruderer, Raymond Bruderer, Edwin (Klea) Bruderer, (Ellen Mae) wife of Ivan Bruderer, (Julie) wife of Dennis Bruderer, and many nieces and nephews from the Parsons and Bruderer families.
Shannon is preceded in death by her parents, Albert (Mabel) Parsons, brothers Donald (LaDene) Parsons, Stanley (Hala) Parsons, Albert Jr. (Carmen) Parsons, Gayland (Sharon) Parsons, James Parsons, and Rodney (Virginia) Parsons, and sister, Margene (Glenn) Phillips.
Shannon was also preceded in death by her Bruderer in-law's Conrad (Anna) Bruderer, Lorin Bruderer, Alma (Dorothy) Bruderer, Victor (Nathalie/Billie Jo/Marjorie/Kathy) Bruderer, Leonard (Donna) Bruderer, Ivan Bruderer, Melvin Bruderer, Delbert (Marian) Bruderer, Howard (Fay) Bruderer, Dennis Bruderer, Virginia Alder, C. Ruth Swendsen, and (Darlene) wife of Raymond Bruderer.

Looking back, our visits were normally short giving our distance. I enjoyed the time we did have to visit. Your smile and laughter will be missed. Love you aunt Shannon.

I learned to just love everyone. Shannon had a smile which lit up the room. She will be so missed by all. I am thankful for her example in my life. The reunions on this side of the veil will never be the same, but oh, what a fun reunion she is having with her loved ones and her sidekicks. We will miss you Shannan.

I will always remember the many times we were able to be with Shannon at the many Bruderer reunions. The many times Vic and I were able to stop at hers and Deans home. Also, the trip to Jackson, Wy, with our other sisters. God bless her I will miss her.
