Shannon Von Donoho, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, cousin, and friend, went to be with the Lord on September 19, 2025, in Denton, Texas.

Born October 29, 1964, in McAlester, Oklahoma, Shannon was the first grandchild and a joy to her beloved grandmothers, Ida and Imaree, and her grandfather, Bolding. Her bright blue eyes and freckles lit up every room she entered. She spent her childhood in Las Vegas, where she developed her adventurous spirit and lifelong love of music, including playing the flute.

Shannon embraced life with a creative heart — painting, writing poetry, and surrounding herself with music, especially Willie Nelson and Otis Redding. She was fond of collecting rocks and frogs from her travels, each one a small story of where she had been. Shannon loved animals deeply, including her sweet and faithful dog, Stash.

Her love for the arts was matched only by her love for her children, which she always said was her greatest achievement. Whether she was sharing moments of laughter, words of wisdom, or soaking in the boundless energy of her grandchildren, Shannon’s joy was found in her family.

Shannon was preceded in death by her loving parents, Brenda and Bob Donoho of McAlester; grandparents Ida and John Greives of McAlester, Elza Bolding of McAlester, Robert Guinn Donoho of Eufaula, Imaree Donoho of Krebs, and Curtis Johnson of Las Vegas; aunts and uncles Sharon and Charles Manning of McAlester, Nancy and O.V. Hagar of Sadler, and Floyd Hart of Krebs; and cousins Christopher Manning of McAlester and Lynn and Jack Janway of Muskogee.

She is survived by her devoted family: Jessie Johnson and Samantha Sinclair of Watonga, Joshua and Cheyenne Johnson of Runaway Bay, and Jeffrey "Trent" Smith of Runaway Bay; her beloved grandchildren Hunter, Alexis, and Cooper Johnson; her brother Rob Donoho and his wife Laura and their daughter Elle Marie Donoho of Frisco; cousins Phillip Manning and Patty Manning; and former husband Gene Johnson of Runaway Bay.

Shannon's legacy will live on in the hearts of her family, who will forever remember her loving spirit and unwavering support. As Willie Nelson sang, she was truly an “angel flying too close to the ground.”
