Gornik, Shannon R., 44, Frenchville, passed away Friday, December 19, 2025, at Mount Nittany Medical Center, surrounded by her loved ones. Born December 16, 1981, Lancaster, daughter of the late Ronald H. Smith Sr. Also preceded in death by a brother, Derek Smith, and her stepfather, John Tennis. Shannon is survived by her loving husband, Christopher E. Gornik. Also survived by her mother, Dorothy H. (Grissinger) Smith; children, Olivia Gornik, Emily Gornik, Alyssa Gornik, Latham Gornik, and Cody Grissinger; brother, Ronald H. Smith Jr.; mother and father-in-law, Rodney and Dorothy Gornik; stepbrother, Michael Tennis; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Shannon had a strong love for animals. She had many pets of her own and fostered over 30 dogs throughout the years. She was proud to be able to care for them before finding them a forever home. Shannon also loved being outdoors surrounded by nature. She enjoyed going camping, hiking, and riding quads. She was also known for keeping beautiful flower gardens. Services will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
