A much loved father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend, Rev. Shannon Hall, age 78, of Caleb Lane, Corbin, Kentucky passed away on Friday afternoon at his residence.
He was the father of April Goodman, and husband, Donnie of Cornelius, North Carolina, Jacquie Camp of Huntersville, North Carolina and Cherry Ann Hall of Virginia. He was the brother of Kevin Hall of Corbin, Kentucky and Sherre Morris and husband, James of Richmond, Kentucky. He was the best friend of Star Smith of Corbin, Kentucky.
He was also blessed with nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Thomas and Doris Imogene Faulkner Hall and by one brother, Kirby Hall.
Shannon graduated from Whitley County High School and Berkshire Christian College. He was a retired Advent Christian minister and attended the South Park United Baptist Church in Corbin, Kentucky. He was known for his dedication and hard work as a Security Guard for Bolton's Wrecker Service and was the Chaplain for the Oak Grove Volunteer Fire Department.
Shannon loved fishing, telling jokes, playing jokes, was an avid KY Wildcat fan, made the best chicken and dumplings and loved spending time with his family.
Funeral services for Rev. Shannon Thomas Hall will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday afternoon in the Laurel Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gene Peters and Rev. Chet Hart officiating. Burial will follow in the Corinth Cemetery in Corbin, Kentucky. The family will receive friends at Laurel Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour of 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pallbearers will be the Oak Grove Volunteer Fire Department Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests that memorial contributions be made to the Oak Grove Volunteer Fire Department, 4613 Cumberland Falls Highway, Corbin, Kentucky 40701.
