Sharee Vanessa Hale, 64, of Evansville, Indiana, entered into eternal rest on October 7, 2025, in her hometown, surrounded by the love of family and cherished friends. A devoted daughter, mother, sister, and friend, Sharee will be remembered for her radiant smile, unwavering faith, and enduring ability to bring light into the lives of those around her. Born on January 11, 1961, in Evansville, Sharee was the beloved daughter of Elder Matthew Hale and the late Mrs. Carolyn Fay Hawkins Hale. From a young age, she exuded warmth and an infectious joy that endeared her to everyone she met. Sharee’s upbringing in Evansville shaped her into a woman of deep compassion, faith, and humor, qualities that would define her life’s journey. Sharee graduated from Bosse High School in 1979, proudly earning her high school diploma and establishing a foundation for academic achievement that she would continue to build on. In 1983, she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice, a milestone that reflected her determination and love of learning. Following her education, Sharee dedicated many years of her professional life to the Internal Revenue Service, where she was respected for her diligence, professionalism, and the friendly spirit she brought to her colleagues. Sharee’s life was characterized by her easygoing personality and her effortless ability to create joy and laughter wherever she went. Even during her battle with lupus, she remained steadfast in her positivity and kindness, blessing friends and family each day with beautifully cheerful electronic greeting cards. Her thoughtfulness and steady faith uplifted those around her and served as a powerful testament to her strength and grace. She cherished her son, Matthew Nicholas Sims, whose achievements and happiness filled her with immense pride. Family was at the heart of everything Sharee did with deep love, joy, mutual admiration, and laughter. Sharee’s faith in God was a cornerstone of her life. She was a devoted and active member of Watkins COGIC Temple in Evansville, where she offered her support and shared her gifts with humility and joy. Her church community was an extension of her family, and her presence there will be deeply missed. When she wasn’t greeting each day with prayer and gratitude, Sharee could often be found enjoying her favorite movies on Hallmark and Lifetime, delighting in the storytelling that reflected her own warmth and empathy. Her love of the PBS network spoke to her lifelong curiosity, and her tradition of watching Saturday morning cartoons with a bowl of cereal—long into adulthood—captured her youthful heart and unshakable sense of wonder. Sharee is survived by her father, Elder Matthew Hale; her son, Matthew Nicholas Sims (Kiera); her sister, ADonna Hale Hardy; nephew, Donald B Hardy, II; his sons, Landon and A’Darius Hardy; and honorary nieces, Ashlyn and Shanel Jordan. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Mrs. Carolyn Fay Hawkins Hale; grandfather, Deacon John Jones and grandmother, Mrs. Velma Jones.
