Shari Lynn Gilman passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2025.

Shari was born on Saturday, December 1, 1962 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma to Charles and Bessie Mae (Powers) Cross. She graduated from Stroud High School in 1981. Shari worked at Stroud Sonic and was general manager for 25 years. When she retired from there in 2009 she worked part time for Dan’s BBQ in Davenport. A few years ago she moved to Norman and then Yukon to be closer to family. Shari was an important part of the Stroud community for years, teaching and instilling her own hard work ethic into her employees at Sonic. But not only was Shari a boss, she was one who took the time to listen and became family to so many. Shari won Stroud Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year in 2006. Shari had many titles but the one she coveted the best was Granny; she treasured her memories with family, especially her grandchildren. She loved to drink coffee and craft when she had time. She also loved to know and visit about what was going on with people. Shari has so many attributes to describe her; she’s humble, has a great sense of humor, leader, great listener, mom to so many, hard worker, influencer; all these traits and more will be greatly missed.

Shari was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Bessie Cross; granddaughters Emma and Blayre Koch; her furry companions Brutus and JR.

Shari is survived by her son Elton Koch and wife Chyloe; her daughter MaLynn Gilman; her sister Sandy Cross; her grandchildren Lexi and Olivia; she is also survived by extended family and friends.
