I considered Shari one of the closest friends I ever had. Shari was 2 years older than I was. We had both attended South East Junior High in Iowa City. I did not know Shari at that time, but she knew me. I was picked on in Junior High by the older girls. I lived in fear of one of those "mean girls" putting Nair in my hair or "swirling" me, but what I didn't know was that Shari had my back. She saw what those girls were doing and would have kicked their butts if they tried anything. We met a few years later at Systems Unlimited, working with special needs clients. We immediately felt a kinship, both spiritually and personally. She became like a sister to me. I was in her wedding to Jesus and she was in my wedding a few years later. We lost touch, much to my deepest regret, but through God's grace, He helped us find each other shortly before she passed. I wish we had had more time, but I am so grateful to have heard her voice one more time. I loved her and will miss know she is in this world, but will look forward to seeing her in the next. She was truly one of a kind and a remarkable woman!

Shari and I were childhood friends. We grew up in church together. So many fond memories of youth group, slumber parties, horseback riding and exploring in the woods on the Louis family property. Prayers for her family. Bobette (Dye) McGowan

Shari was the kindest and most loving and caring individual that I have ever met. She would give you the shirt off her back. She was a shining star!

Shari and I went to Switzerland together when I was 16 and she was 18. We had the most amazing time together, laughing every day. I remember her standing up on a local bus, with a bunch of older folks from the local farms, and acting like a tour guide. She had all of us laughing like crazy!

Shari was my best friend ever since I can remember. During our childhood, Shari and I were either at my house or hers. She was always more of a sister than a cousin to me. I will always treasure my memories of our time together.
