POTOSI – Sharlene Jane Udelhoven, age 76, of Potosi, passed away on Friday, February 14, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 7, 1948, in Lancaster, the daughter of Harry and Virginia (Pickett) Schiffman. Sharlene graduated from Potosi High School. After graduation, she worked for Loudspeaker Components, LLC. On April 29, 1967, Sharlene was united in marriage to James Udelhoven at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Tennyson. After their marriage, the couple farmed in Harrison Township and raised a family. Sharlene enjoyed stitchery, gardening, cooking, fishing, camping, traveling and UTV rides. She dearly loved spending time with her family and attending her grandchildren’s activities.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, James; their children: Bonnie (Brian) Hood, Dale (Kimberly), James (Susan), and Joseph (Machelle) Udelhoven; 10 grandchildren: Denver (Nicole Manders) Hood, Jerrica (Tyler) Noble, Carmen Hood (Jason Oyen), Tyler (Madeline Hawes) Udelhoven, Hannah (Trent Rider) Udelhoven, Shakyla (Keith) Moore, Anthony Udelhoven, Brianna (Tyler) Krohn, Cheyanne Jo Udelhoven (Zach Adkins), and Amber Sue Udelhoven (Alex Freese); four great-grandchildren: Harper and Hazel Moore, Amara Krohn, and Carter James Hood; her sisters: Darlene O’Farrell and Debbie Dirksen; sisters-in-law: Marian, Shirley and Connie Schiffman; other relatives and many friends.
In addition to her parents, Sharlene was preceded in death by her siblings: Ilene (Bernard) Tracy, Dianna (Bob) Pasold, Donnie (Eileen), Doug, Dave, Dale, and Dick Schiffman.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Tennyson with Father Richard Leffler officiating. Burial will be in St. Andrew Cemetery, Tennyson. Family and friends may visit on Thursday, February 20, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church and on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory in Potosi is assisting the family.
