Forever In Our Hearts, Sharolett Freitas
Born on October 25, 1948, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, Sharolett spent her entire life in Pocola, Oklahoma-a community she cherished and where she built lasting friendships. She graduated from Pocola High School in 1968 and remained deeply rooted in her hometown throughout her life.
She is survived by her three sons, James (Pete) Freitas and his wife Rebecca, Michael Freitas and his wife Deanne Mannion, and Adam Freitas and his wife Jill; and by her beloved grandchildren, Teja Freitas, Nathan Freitas, Chloe Freitas, Jackson Freitas, Ben Rau, Cameron Rau, Emma Freitas, and Samuel Freitas. She is also survived by her former husband and father of her children, John Freitas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Bonnie George; her brother, Buddy; and her sister, Shelia.
Sharolett had a love of photography and a wonderful eye for capturing the beauty in everyday life. She was an excellent cook-her spaghetti and meat sauce were a real treat-and she had a true gift for making every meal special. Fiercely independent, she loved fixing things, though it was well known that they were often more broken afterward. Her amazing smile, quick wit, and "can-do" attitude made her unforgettable to all who knew her. She had a deep affection for her pets, especially her loyal companion and best friend, a little dog named Leo.
Sharolett lived life on her own terms-fearless, loving, and full of spirit. She faced her final days the same way she lived every day: surrounded by family, filled with love, and entirely herself. Her strength, humor, and warmth will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the joy of knowing her. Cremation is under the thoughtful care of River Glenn Cremation and Funeral Services.
