Sharon D. Benda, affectionately known as "Grams" or "MS INFO" to many, peacefully went home to her Lord and Savior on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025, surrounded by her loving family and dear pets. She was 84.
Sharon was born on October 24, 1940, and raised in Racine, Wisconsin. At the young age of 12, her family relocated to the Eagle River area where they had been vacationing for years. She spent most of her adult life promoting the Northwoods area, which she loved. Sharon was a patriot and strong supporter of the Troops. She was often seen on the corner, in a parade or at a service holding a THANKS TROOPS sign and waving her American flag high.
Sharon has been reunited with those preceding her in death-Her parents Arthur and Lillian Petersen, Her son David Congleton, Her sister Beverly Helling and her husband Jack Benda.
She is survived by her siblings, Janet Peterson and twin brother Lee (Lynn) Petersen; her children Kurt (Tracy) Congleton, Shelly (Dan) Sauvola and Sherri Congleton; her beloved grandchildren Devin, David and Allison Sauvola, Makenzie and Aspen Congleton, Cody, Michael and Cory Downing and Alex Gensch; numerous nieces and nephews and several grand dogs.
A memorial service for Sharon will be at 11am on Friday, May 2, 2025 at the Gaffney-Busha Funeral Home in Eagle River, WI. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Sharon's honor to Our Savior Lutheran Church or the Veteran's Resource Center, would be appreciated by the family.
