Sharon Linda Burgess, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 13, 2025, in Southampton, NJ, at the age of 63. Born on Valentine's Day in 1962, in Mt. Holly, NJ, Sharon's life was a testament to the power of love and the courage to nurture beauty in the world around her.
Sharon is survived by her devoted husband of 45 years, James Burgess, Jr., with whom she shared a life full of joy and companionship. Together, they raised two wonderful children, Tara Burgess and James Burgess III (Emily), who were the center of Sharon's world. Her legacy continues through her three cherished grandchildren, Hudson Cooper, and LJ and Liam Burgess.
Sharon's mother, Linda Johnson, her siblings, Ron Davis (Cheryl), Lenny Davis, and Brenda Davis, along with several nieces and nephews, will hold dear her memory.
A stay-at-home mom, Sharon dedicated her life to caring for her family, creating a home filled with love and laughter. Her nurturing nature extended beyond her family as she poured her heart into every endeavor she undertook. Sharon and her husband, James, cultivated beauty as they began a sunflower farm, selling seedlings that brought joy and sunshine to many.
Her passion for antique furniture was more than a hobby; it was a way she connected with the past and brought new life to forgotten treasures. Sharon's eye for potential and her skilled hands restored beauty to numerous pieces, which she then lovingly resold, sharing her finds with others.
Sharon's love for the beach was profound, with Beach Haven, NJ, holding a special place in her heart. The serenity of the ocean waves and the warmth of the sun were sources of endless joy and inspiration for her.
Relatives and friends may greet the family on Thursday, September 25, 2025, from 12PM-2PM, at the Mathis Funeral Home, 58 N. Main St., Medford, NJ. Funeral services will follow at 2PM, at the funeral home.
