A graveside service will be held for Sharon Lumpkin Carpenter at Lone Star Cemetery on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at 10:00am.
Sharon Janie Lumpkin Carpenter passed away on December 19, 2023, at Titus Regional Medical Center in Mount Pleasant, Texas. She was born on October 10, 1953 in Titus County, Texas to John Walker Lumpkin and Evelyn Rogers Lumpkin.
Sharon was a lover of nature and took comfort in being outside, feeding the squirrels and birds. When she wasn’t outside, she enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends. She was a talented cook who relished in the joy of watching her loved ones eat and be satisfied by the fruits of her labor. 
Sharon is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Mickey and Stacy Blalock of Benson, AZ; daughter and son-in-law Mindi and Stephen Selman of Purvis, MS; grandchildren Landon and wife Shelby Richeson of Ft. Liberty, NC, Gracie Blalock of Benson, AZ, Olivia Blalock of Benson, AZ, Reagan Selman of Purvis, MS, Bodie Blalock of Benson, AZ, Hudson Selman of Purvis, MS, Benjamin Blalock of Benson, AZ, and Piper Selman of Purvis, MS; great- grandchildren, Aubrey and Avery Richeson of Ft. Liberty, NC; sister and brother-in-law Julia and Robert Rolston of Mt. Pleasant, TX; and sister Barbara Grissom of College Station, TX.  
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Gary and Tommy Lumpkin, her sister Johnnie Bunger, her beloved dog and best friend, Jo-Jo; niece Stacy Lumpkin; niece Phyllis Lumpkin Nash; and numerous beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.
