Sharon Ruth (Turner) Coats, 84, passed into the arms of her Lord on May 8, 2025. Sharon was born in Lucas County, IA on September 13, 1940, the daughter of Sylvan and Margaret Turner. She grew up in Iowa and graduated high school there in 1958. She attended North Central Bible College, Minneapolis, MN and graduated in 1962. She then attended nursing school.
She married Dallas Coats on June 26, 1964, and together they served in the ministry in Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Indiana. She ministered alongside Dallas in numerous ways and served as a nurse in various capacities. They raised three children, Erlene, Denise, and Bruce.
Remaining to cherish Sharon's memory are children Erlene (Doug) Johnson and Bruce (Sheryl) Coats; sister Judy Turner and brother Don (Anne) Turner; sisters-in-law, Gayle Turner and Deloris Royer; son-in-law Alan Kachic; grandchildren Meridith, Brittany, Kate, Chris, Rachel, and Ben. In addition, she is survived by great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and many friends.
Preceding Sharon in death are her beloved husband Dallas; parents Sylvan and Margaret Turner; daughter Denise Kachic; brothers Dwayne and Melvin Turner; sister Virgina Turner; in-laws Raymond and Loraine Coats; brothers-in-law Leonard (Ruth) Coats, Roy Royer; and sister-in-law Elaine (Ken) May.
A funeral service for Sharon will be held at 3:00 pm on Thursday May 15, 2025, at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano with Rev. Dr. Bruce C. Coats officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 1:00 pm until the time of service. Burial will be held at Gresham Public Cemetery in Gresham.
Memorial donations in Sharon's memory may be directed to AgapeHope, a pastoral counseling and care ministry for vocational missionaries and pastors, where her daughter Erlene serves as the vice president and counselor.
