WEST SAND LAKE - Sharon Colloton, 69, of West Sand Lake, passed away Thursday, January 8, 2026, at home.
Sharon was born in Albany, N.Y., the daughter of the late and Rita (Davis) Lee.
She loved dogs, and had a passion for breeding them, which developed into her running her own business, Sand Lake Doodles. One of the dogs donated to Albany Police Department, Charlie, first golden doodle therapy dog saved a teenagers life from committing suicide. She loved the outdoors and bingo. Her laughter would make everybody smile, making an impression on everyone she met, most good, some bad.
She was a bridge welder for BBL for years. She was one of the first woman bridge welders in the state of New York.
Survivors include children, Brian Tierney, Shannan Lanahan, and Peter M. Colloton Jr.; sisters, Cathy Lee-Visscher and Lori E.(Andrew P.) Giglia; grandchildren, Tommy and Catie Lanahan; niece, Caitlin Dersimonian; and nephew, Logan Visscher.
In addition to her mother; she was predeceased by husband, Peter M. Colloton; and brother, David Lee.
Friends and family are invited to call from 4 to 7 p.m., on Thursday, January 15, in the Wm. J. Rockefeller Funeral Home, 165 Columbia Tpk., Rensselaer. A service will follow in the funeral home at 7 p.m. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, at 1:30 p.m., on Friday, January 16.
