Sharon Rose Deckard, aged 83, passed away on January 7, 2026, in Killeen, Texas. Born on June 6, 1942, Sharon was deeply cherished by her family and community.
Sharon's passion for quilting, sewing, and embroidery brought much joy to her life, a hobby that she pursued with love and dedication. An avid reader, she found great pleasure in the pages of books, which were often accompanied by the warmth of her family's company.
Sharon owned and operated her own cleaning business, demonstrating her entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to providing for her family. She was a committed member of Memorial Baptist Church, where she engaged actively in community and spiritual activities. Her family was her pride and joy. Sharon is survived by her loving husband, John G. Deckard; her brothers, Ronald and Lanny McCormick; her daughters, Janet Hauck and Barbara Porter; and her grandchildren, John Paul Hauck, Mary Hauck Rice, Kyle Hauck, Tabitha Porter, Christopher Porter, Lindsay Porter, Kristi Mulder, and Ashley Deckard. She also leaves behind 16 great-grandchildren who will miss her dearly. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold W. and Bernice McCormick; her brothers, Donald and Arnold McCormick; her sisters, Colleen Bradley and Dixie Eisler; and her son, Phillip Andrew Deckard. Visitation will be held on January 14, 2026, from 5-7 PM at Heritage Funeral Home in Harker Heights, Texas. Her funeral is scheduled for 10 AM on January 15, 2026, at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery. Sharon will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her passion for her crafts, and her devotion to her community. Her legacy of warmth and kindness will continue to inspire those who knew her. Visitation Wednesday, January 14, 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Heritage Funeral Home, 425 E.
