Sharon Evans Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Greenlawn Funeral Home North on Dec. 21, 2025.
Sharon Sue Evans, age 84, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2025. She was born on September 30, 1941, in Springfield, Missouri, to Thedore and Wilma Evans.

Sharon lived a life marked by faith and generosity. She loved to travel and was rarely without her camera, capturing memories and the beauty she encountered along the way. Some of her most cherished moments were spent walking through parks with her family admiring flowers and butterflies.

A gifted and patient craftsman, Sharon made quilts entirely by hand, lovingly donating many of them to the Springfield Pregnancy Care Center and Maranatha Village Retirement Community. Her giving spirit touched countless lives.

Sharon was a devoted member of High Street Baptist Church, where she faithfully taught Sunday School for 40 years. She especially loved working with children and took great joy in helping them learn and grow in their faith until her retirement from teaching.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thedore and Wilma Evans; her sister, Louise; her brother, Gene; and her niece, Ginger.

Sharon is survived by her loving family: nieces Vicki (Tony) Rupprecht and their children Adam, Alexander, and Anthony of Joplin, Missouri; Michelle Myers and her children Shae and Colton of Galena, Kansas; Jennifer White and her daughter Destiny Hamill of Joplin; nephew Paul McHorney of Galena, Kansas; nephew Bill and his son William; great-nieces Stormi and Jubilee; and her dear sister-in-law, Merilee Evans, who cared for her with great devotion.

Sharon Sue Evans will be remembered for her gentle heart, steadfast faith, and the love she shared so freely with family, church, and community.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Springfield Pregnancy Care Center, an organization close to Sharon's heart.
