Sharon Gandy

Gandy (Lewis), Sharon, - 65, of Millville, passed away on Friday, August 4, 2023 at her current residence. Sharon was born in Atlantic City, NJ, and raised in Sea Isle City before moving to Vineland in 2005. She was the daughter of Donald W. and Edith Lewis who predeceased her. She graduated from Wildwood Catholic High School in 1975 and graduated from Atlantic Community College with an associate degree in accounting. She married Benjamin R. Gandy in 1978 and had two children, Christine and Jennifer (passed away 5/3/2023). While estranged from Benjamin (who later died in a car accident) Sharon found a new relationship with Jeffrey McDermott with whom she had two children, Casey Noel (died shortly after birth in 1993) and Skylar in 1994. She raised her children with the help of her parents and family while holding down jobs as best she could. She was exceedingly kind and always thinking of others rather than herself. Later in life she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchild. She loved all kinds of cats and enjoyed gardening, watching Japanese drama programs, and doing puzzles on her iPad. Sharon is survived by daughter Christine (Gandy) Rodriquez [husband Joey]; son Skylar McDermott; granddaughters Zaria S. Gandy, Shaylah C. Roberts, Naja Jones and Brielle Jones; great-granddaughter Kehlani Townsend; sisters Terri Lewis-Zenger [husband Wayne] and Donna (Lewis) Cevoli [husband Marco]; and many relatives and friends. Following her wishes, Sharon was cremated with her ashes to be returned to family for private remembrances. Arrangements have been entrusted to DeMarco-Luisi Funeral Home, Vineland.
