Sharon Gerkin, 67, of Vincennes, IN passed away surrounded by her family on May 4, 2025. She was born to the late Charles and Hazel (Williams) Newberry on February 7, 1958 in Anna, IL. She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family and anyone she considered family. In her free time she enjoyed tending to her flowers, cooking, singing with her dad, going to karaoke with her sisters, and hunting mushrooms. Sharon was blessed with a beautiful singing voice and loved to share it with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed.
Sharon is preceded in death by her parents; siblings Johnny Newberry and Danny Newberry: brothers in law JD Fox and Steve Knippa. , .
She is survived by her children Brandy Gerkin, Misty (Michael) Mayles, Justin Gerkin; grandchildren Tyler (Taylor) Mayles and Peyton Mayles; great-grandchildren Debra Mayles, Simon Mayles, Cyrus Mayles, Daxton Mayles, Rory Zachary; siblings Susie (Tony Waters) Hunt, Sandy Fox, Steve (Debbie ) Newberry; sister in law Debra Newberry..
Goodwin-Sievers is honored to be entrusted with the care of Ms. Gerkin. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
