Sharon Gist Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 15, 2025.
October 21, 1942 - September 9, 2025 Our beloved mother and grandmother, Sharon Gist, passed on September 9, 2025 surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She was 82. Sharon was born October 21, 1942 in Redding, CA to the late Russell and Jessie Ray. She resided in Yuma, AZ for the last 59 years. She was a long-time member of the Bard Church of the Nazarene.

Sharon was the heart of our home and family. She was married for 63 years to "the love of my life", Bob, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her children Bob Gist, Jr. and his wife Rose, Jeffery Gist, Sr. and his wife Sandra, Faye (Gist) Paulk and her husband Gregory Paulk, Sr., seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Sharon was a devoted nurse for 25 years. Nursing was not only her occupation, but her true calling. She was known for her kind heart and willingness to help others, no matter the need. She was a true matriarch always tending to the Gist and Ray family. She loved traveling in her motorhome, browsing antique shops, and enjoying a good game of Yahtzee.

Our devoted and loved mother will be forever missed but never forgotten. Her light will shine through the family she blessed with life.

At Sharon's request, there will be no memorial service.

Donations in Sharon's memory can be made to the Alzheimer's Organization at alz.org or by mail to Alzheimer's Organization, 320 Nevada St., Suite 201, Newton, MA 02460.
