Sharon Ann Greene

Sharon Ann Greene, 80, of Staatsburg, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 11, 2026, with her family by her side.
Born on Tuesday, January 30, 1945, in Beacon, New York, Sharon was the daughter of the late Merlin Dorn and Ella Louise (Vankleek) Dorn.
Sharon was a gifted artist with a love for creativity. She enjoyed painting, marker drawings, and making jewelry, finding joy both in the process and in sharing her creations with others. She was an avid reader, especially drawn to books about Egypt, ancient history, and anything that had to do with Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Presley. Sharon enjoyed closely followed the British Royal Family and traveled to view the Royal Jewels with her brother when they were on display.
A devoted history enthusiast, she was active in the Staatsburg Historical Society and Mills Mansion, and she especially loved walking through the village of Staatsburg.
Sharon was employed for many years at Marshalls Department Store, where she worked as a Jewelry Sales Associate.
On Saturday, September 17, 1966, at Regina Coeli Church in Hyde Park, Sharon married her beloved husband William Edward Greene Sr., who predeceased her on June 2, 2003.
She is survived by her son, William Greene, Jr.; her daughter Ann Louise Allen and husband Brian; her brother Paul Timothy Dorn and his wife Hazel; her sisters Elizabeth "Betty" Porter and Carol Browne; and her brother Daniel Dorn. Sharon is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Sharon was predeceased by her siblings, Joan Nantz, Ruthie Miller, Merlin Dorn, Raymond Dorn, and Robert Dorn.
Calling hours will be held from 4 PM to 7 PM on Friday, January 16, 2026, at Sweet's Funeral Home, 4365 Albany Post Road, Hyde Park, New York.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Regina Coeli Church, 2 Harvey St., Hyde Park, New York.
Burial will follow at Union Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Sweet's Funeral Home, Route 9, Hyde Park.
