Sharon Kay Johnson

Sharon Kay Johnson, 77, of Ashland, passed away Friday, February 17, 2023 at her home with her family by her side.

Sharon was born August 1, 1945 in Ashland, Ohio to Lawrence and Elizabeth {Long} McClain.

She married Raymond Johnson on August 1, 1964. 

Sharon attended Ashland High School and graduated in 1963.

Sharon was a real estate agent for over 40 years, she worked for Rumbaugh and Associates, Century 21, and most of her time was spent with Coldwell Banker Ward Real Estate. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church for her whole life. She was also a member of the Forget-Me-Not garden club, Sharon loved flowers and gardening. Along with that she was a member of the First Families of Ashland County. Sharon loved cooking, baking, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a Cleveland sports fan and especially loved the Cleveland Indians. Sharon learned to watch golf because Ray enjoyed watching golf with her. She also liked being outside and talking to friends on her phone.

Sharon will be deeply missed by her husband Ray; children Karen (Raymond) Warren of Ashland, Stephen (Diana) Johnson of Phoenix, AZ, Matt Johnson of Ashland, John Johnson of Ashland, Erica Mullett of West Palm Beach, FL, Cora Johnson of Ashland, and Danny Johnson of Ashland; grandchildren Darby and Elizabeth Warren, Amber Cordell, Haleigh Baker, Heather Johnson, Hailey, Lincoln, and Peyton Mullett; 4 great-grandchildren; sister Linda (Jim) Ward of Greenville, NC, and many close cousins. She was a foster parent to many children doing that for over 40 years.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends may call Friday February 24, 2023 from 1 to 2 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-Ashland Chapel, Ashland. Services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Herbert Schumm officiating.
