Sharon (Dee) Lee Kimes, 78, of Lakeland Florida, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2025 surrounded by her family.

She was born on March 6, 1947 in Burton, Ohio, to the late Levi and Betty Roach. She attended Edgewood Senior High School. She was Head of Accounting of NASA Security.

Sharon married James Kimes on September 5, 1975 in Cleveland, Ohio and together they raised 3 children. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She raised birds, orchids and had a love for animals especially horses.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-father, Jerry Sines; her brother Levi Roach; her sister, Kathy Rutkowski. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, James; her children Tad, Tammy and JP (Misty); her granddaughters, Josie, Denise and Kaydence; her grandson, Darin who brought her endless joy, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Sharon received many awards: 1996 Extra Mile Award-APBA, 1997 Women in Power of APBA Offshore Racing Award, 1998 The Outstanding Official of the Year Award, Official Chief Scorer over 30 years for APBA American Offshore Power Boat Race Ass'n, SBI-Superboat International & Puerto Rico Offshore Racing Circuit "Plus" Mother of 2 World Championship sons and husband.

A Celebration of Sharon's Life will be held later in time.
