Sharon Ann Lance, 66, of Shawnee, Oklahoma, passed away December 15, 2024. She was born in Talihina, Oklahoma, on December 12, 1958, to Paul Warren Sparks and Minnie Lee (Wood) Sparks. She was a member of the Seminole Nation Tribe.

Sharon was raised in the Shawnee area, but later moved to Hartshorne, Oklahoma, where she raised four kids with John Lance. She worked for Jones Academy for many years as a housemaid. She then returned to Shawnee to work in the health field, and her last job was with the CPN Tribe as a clerk.

Sharon enjoyed shopping (especially at Cato’s) and arts and crafts. She loved cooking, fishing at her sister’s pond, and sitting on her porch visiting with family. Sharon adored and worried about all her grandbabies every day. Her favorite holiday was Thanksgiving. Church was very special to her, and she loved writing about the Bible and wrote numerous tablets. Christian music was her favorite.

Sharon was preceded in death by her daughter, Tamara Lance; parents, Paul and Minnie Sparks; brother, Ron Sparks; sister, Glessie Jean Tharp; and nephew, Jeffrey Baptiste.

Sharon is survived by her daughter, Misty Stevens of Shawnee; son, Dustin John Lance of Shawnee; daughter, Candace Kyenne Lance of Tulsa; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren; four sisters: Linda Gail Mitchell of Wilburton, OK, Vicky Ontiveros of Shawnee, Jackie Paxson of Shawnee, and Paula Grinnell of Shawnee; two brothers, Anthony Sparks and Gary Sparks of Shawnee; numerous nieces and nephews and extended family members.

Visitation will be Wednesday, December 18, 2024, noon - 7:00 p.m., at AE Funeral Services Chapel, 603 W. Independence St., Shawnee, Oklahoma 74804.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, December 19, 2024, 10:00 a.m., at AE Funeral Services Chapel. Interment will follow at Gowen Cemetery, Gowen, Oklahoma 74545.
