Sharon Kay “Sheri” Litz age 87 of Hartington, Nebraska died on Monday, November 10, 2025 at Arbor Care Center in Hartington.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, November 14, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Hartington with the Rev. Will Targy officiating. Burial will be at St. Michael’s cemetery in Hartington. Visitation will be on Friday morning, at church, from 9-10:30 a.m. with a rosary recited at 10:00 a.m. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington.
Sharon Kay was born on January 4, 1938 in Omaha, Nebraska to Otto and Parthenia (Pat Koch) Feilmeier. She grew up on a ranch and farm in Ainsworth and attended grade school and graduated from Ainsworth High School in 1956. She married Donnie Litz on April 25, 1961 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Hartington. Donnie died on May 22, 1990 at the age of 55 years. Sheri was employed at the Health and Human Services at the Courthouse in Hartington since June 1, 1957 until she retired from that position on April 4, 2003. When she was young she received the highest honor in Girl Scouting. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, gardening, arts and crafts, crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles. Sheri also liked playing the organ and her guitar. Sheri and Donnie liked ballroom dancing, riding on his motorcycle, and spending time at Lewis and Clark Lake.
Sheri was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and the Ministry of Praise group. She helped with Meals on Wheels for several years. She loved feeding the birds and squirrels for 40 years, but her biggest love was her dog Marvin.
Sheri is survived by her sister-in-law Barbara Feilmeier (wife of brother Leon) of Mitchell, SD; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Otto and Pat Feilmeier; husband Donnie; a brother Leon Feilmeier; and grandparents Leonard and Catherine Koch; and her beloved dog Marvin.
