Norman Morand Tramp was born on March 7, 1943, to Herman and Alma Bartz Tramp. He was baptized that same day at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Menominee, Nebraska. Norman attended St. Rose Elementary and Middle School before graduating from Crofton High School in 1961. He continued his education at Southeast Community College in Milford, Nebraska, earning a degree in Construction. Throughout his career, Norman led construction crews and worked across Nebraska and two other states. He played a pivotal role in bringing rural water to Crofton, and personally trenching the water lines. Norman was also responsible for starting several developments in Crofton and its surrounding communities.

Norman met Carol Ann Gregg in Crofton, Nebraska. Their friendship blossomed into love, and in 1975, they married at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Crofton. She was the light of his life. Together, Norman and Carol made their home in Crofton, where they were blessed with three children. In 1996, the family moved to Wynot. They marked their 50th anniversary in 2025.

Norman’s passions were many. He enjoyed playing cards, participating in softball games, dancing, fishing, hunting, and traveling. He loved woodworking and construction, and he cherished time spent with his family. A lover of nostalgia, Norman loved watching his collection of 8MM films and took delight in his antique train. Norman was also a member of several organizations, including the Carpenter Club, Knights of Columbus, and Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He loved his 1968 Ford Tractor and his small bulldozer. He also owned a Harley Davidson when he was younger and would give the kids a “memorable ride”.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Carol Tramp; their children and spouses: Julie (Matt) Williams of Wagner, SD, Nick (Lindsay) Tramp Allen, NE, and Gabe (Melinda) Tramp of Bennet, NE. Norman is also survived by siblings and in-laws: Charles Tramp of Crofton; Wilfred and Donna Tramp of Crofton; Marilyn Tramp of Crofton, Marcy (Arven) Kathol of Hartington. Norman is survived by 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Norman was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Alma Tramp; his infant brother; and siblings and in-laws: Harold Tramp, Quinten and Imogene Tramp, Elmer and Rosemary Jensen, Geralda Tramp, and brother-in-law Mike Gregg.
