Age 72, of Plum formerly of Penn Hills, on Saturday, September 27, 2025, following a lengthy battle with dementia. Beloved mother of Russell (Alyssa) Sterner; Grandma of Nathan, Natalie, and Nico; Sister of Lynn Sullivan, Antoinette Leicht, and Marie (Brian) Lazewski; Niece of Tom (Pat) McCracken, Barbara (the late Jim) O'Neill, Charles McCracken, and the late Jack (Marie) Pape; also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins; preceded in death by her mother, Marie Edgar and brother, Frank Pietropola. Sharon was very social, and had a beautiful personality to match her smile. Working as a bartender for years at the Palace Inn, she interacted with many people, something that brought joy to her day. There was, however, no greater light in her life than that of her son, Russ. While dementia softened her glow too soon, Sharon's brightness remains a blessing to all who knew her. Friends received, Tuesday, 2-6pm at Soxman Funeral Homes, Ltd., 7450 Saltsburg Road (at Universal Road) Penn Hills, where a Blessing Service will be held, Wednesday, 10am. Interment in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
