Sharon Ann (Hixson) Nelson
Sharon Ann (Hixson) Nelson, a long time resident of Lake County, California, passed away on April 30, 2025.
She was born to Florence Warmington and Clarke Hixson on May 23, 1950 in Garberville, California.
Sharon was raised by her grandmother, Edith (Wight) Thomas, on their family's ranch on Wight Way in Kelseyville. Sharon attended Kelseyville schools K-12 and graduated class of 1968. She was a hard worker and single mother.
Sharon worked as a waitress in Kelseyville coffee shops for over 14 years. She had a big heart and loved animals, plants, and all the misfits! She always did what she could to help any living creature in need. She had a gift of making people laugh every where she went! You never knew what was going to come out of her unfiltered mouth! She naturally was the life of every party! Also, among her array of cats, she was known for having "Creepy Critters" like lizards, tarantulas, and even black widows!
Sharon was predeceased by her parents, Clarke and Florence, as well as her twin sister, Sheril Lee (Hixson) Wilson. She is survived by her only child, Lisa Benitez; and grandchildren, Shayla Wyman, Zethan Wurm and Damian Wurm.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Those who would like to be notified, please contact Lisa at [email protected].
