Sharon Therisa Posten

Mrs. Sharon Therisa Anderson Posten, age 81, formerly of Stevensville, PA, passed away on December 21, 2025, at Guthrie Towanda Skilled Nursing Facility.

Sharon was born on March 31, 1944, in Towanda, PA, a daughter of the late Leon Francis & Robertine Frances Dimon Anderson. She graduated from the Wyalusing Valley High School, a member of the class of 1962. After high school she attended the Empire Beauty School in Endicott, NY, but shortly after finishing she started working at the former Bendix Corporation in South Montrose and retired from there in 1996, after 33 years of service.

She married George Clayton Posten on April 9, 1983, at the Dille Parish United Church of Christ.

She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and loved playing cards as well as square dancing.

She is also survived by long-time friends, the Patricia and Jack Carr family.

She was predeceased by her father, Leon F. Anderson, on March 26, 1965, and by her mother, Robertine Dimon Anderson, on May 26, 1996, and by her sister Donna Owen-Reese on August 22, 2019. She was also predeceased by her husband, George C. Posten, on March 31, 2023, mother-in-law, Elizabeth V. Clayton Posten Harvey, on January 15, 2017, brother-in-law, James Posten, on July 21, 2023 (and his wife, Nancy, recently).

Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family, with interment in the Camptown Cemetery.
