Sharon Ruth Richards

Sharon Ruth Richards of Virginia Beach, Virginia, entered eternal life on February 17th, 2026 at the age of 83. She was born in Michigan to John and Lenore Pollice on July 29th, 1942.

While being a wife and raising three children, she attained her Bachelor's Degree in Special Education from Norfolk State University, where she proudly earning her name on the Dean's List. Further along into her journey she eventually retired from Aafes. She lived out the rest of her life on her terms, enjoying her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roger; and her brothers, John Jr., and Jerry.

She is survived by her children; son, Tim and his wife Cheryl; son, Tony and his wife Karla; daughter, Penny and her husband Carlos; her grandchildren, Victoria, Billy, Steven, Melissa, Melinne, Melinda and her husband Derrick; her great grandchildren, Tia, Miya, Kingston, Josiah and Kaniyah. Sharon also leaves to cherish her memory an abundance of friends and family who she held near and dear to her heart.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted into the care of Altmeyer Funeral Home and Cremation, Southside Chapel, located at 5033 Rouse Drive, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23462.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, March 1st, 2026 at 1:00 PM at Altmeyer Funeral Home and Cremation, Southside Chapel. Family and friends are encouraged to leave messages and fond memories below as way to continue and honor Sharon's incredible legacy.
