Benjamin O'Kelley Obituary
It is with profound sadness yet deep gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Benjamin Patrick O'Kelley, who left this world on February 8, 2026, at the age of 55. Born on July 18, 1970, in Virginia, Benjamin's journey through life was marked by curiosity, laughter, and love, and he passed away peacefully in Texas.
Throughout his life, Benjamin wore many hats professionally, having worked in logistical, construction, and automotive roles. These experiences reflected his mechanical ingenuity and insatiable curiosity-traits that defined his very essence. He approached every challenge with the same spirit: understanding how things work and taking joy in dismantling and rebuilding them.
Benjamin had an unwavering passion for the great outdoors. He cherished days spent fishing on serene lakes and hunting in the tranquility of nature's embrace. His sense of humor was a constant companion, lighting up the lives of everyone he met and leaving smiles in his wake.
While he wasn't a churchgoer, Benjamin was undoubtedly a man of faith, finding spirituality in everyday moments and lessons. His beliefs were reflected in his actions, always guided by kindness, integrity, and understanding.
Benjamin was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Benjamin Calvin O'Kelley and Virginia Dare O'Kelley (nee Hayslett). He leaves behind a legacy of love through his children, Jonathan and Brittany; his treasured grandchildren, Charles and E melia; and his siblings Judy (Larry), Mike (Sharon), Karen, Virginia aka Dawn (Michael), and David. His extended family and a wide circle of friends feel the weight of his absence but are grateful for the colorful tapestry of memories he leaves behind.
To honor and remember Benjamin, a visitation will be held on Monday, February 23, 2026, from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5033 Rouse Drive in Virginia Beach. This will be followed by a graveside service at 1 pm at Rosewood Memorial Gardens, 631 N Witchduck Rd., also in Virginia Beach. We invite all who knew him to join us in celebrating his life and the impact he made on ours.
Benjamin Patrick O'Kelley will be dearly missed, but the vibrancy and warmth he brought to our lives will forever illuminate our hearts.
