Sharon Rummler Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Premier Funeral Services - Salt Lake City on Feb. 1, 2026.
Sharon Webb Rummler, 82, of Salt Lake City, Utah, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2026, in her home in Murray, Utah, surrounded by her family including her beloved cat, Bear.

She was born June 20, 1943, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Eldon and LaVon Webb. Sharon graduated from Olympus High, married Ron Lillie, and had two children, Kim and Troy. Several years later, she divorced Ron, married Bill Rummler, and the family moved to sunny Southern California, where their daughter Michelle was born. Some years later, she began taking college classes to help satisfy her many (many!) curiosities and earned top of her class at California State University, Northridge for her Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree. The degree came in handy when she and Bill divorced and she began working full-time. She was incredibly well-organized and efficient, making her a successful administrative assistant in fields including law, aviation, and banking. She loved Southern California and lived there until 2022, when she moved back to Salt Lake City to be closer to family.

Sharon was known for her love for family and friends, and for crooner Johnny Mathis. She was the matriarch of our family, ensuring that we stayed connected with her and with each other. She taught us unconditional love by her example, never turning away even when we most deserved it. She also was known for asking oh-so-many questions about things she saw, read, heard, smelt, or felt; she just wanted to know!

She held several long-time friendships from childhood and early adulthood, which is a testament to the value she placed on, and energy she put into, personal relationships. She connected with a group of friends (and their friends) at her first job after divorcing Bill, and credits them for getting her through those difficult times. They enjoyed going to wine country together to talk, laugh, and sip; she especially loved chardonnay. They remained close throughout the years even after she moved back to Utah, holding regular zoom calls that often lasted many hours. They consider her the matriarch of that group.

She is survived by her daughters Kim and Michelle; daughter-in-law Patty; grandchildren Mark Savoy, Kyle Savoy (Haylie Savoy), Dustin Rummler, and Nick Scrima; great grandchildren Brooklyn Savoy, Emma Savoy, Troy Rummler, Khaleesi Savoy, and Ariella Savoy. She also is survived by her brother Rick Webb (Joan Webb), and nephews Ted Webb, Steve Paul, Clark Paul, and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eldon and LaVon, sister Darlene Paul and her husband Gene Paul, son Troy Rummler, and grandson Dylan Rummler. She also was preceded in death by ex-husband Ron and ex-husband Bill, who was the love of her life.

Sharon will be missed by her many relatives and friends, old and new. We will miss being a witness to her contagious zest for life, experiences, and relationships. "Never turn down an invitation," she said.

We will notify friends and family of Celebration of Life plans, which likely will be held during the summer.
