Sharon Lynn Saegesser, 82, of Sevierville, TN, passed away on Monday, March 27, at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville. She was born on January 12, 1941, in Christopher, IL to Burl and Lucille (Profitt) Shepard. She married the love of her life, Mickey Saegesser, on June 20, 1965, who preceded her in death in 2009. She is survived by two sons– Marc Saegesser (Vivian), Sevierville, TN, and grandchildren Zachary (Austin, TX) and Josh (Kent, OH) and Brad Saegesser (Jodie Spencer), Tawas City, MI and one daughter – Susan Allen (Paul), Muncie, IN and grandchildren Reagan (Muncie, IN), Bailee (New London, CT), and Sam (Muncie, IN). Sharon was an avid reader, starting her day reading the Bible, which she had read cover-to-cover several times. She loved collecting and reading novels, doing puzzles, and reminiscing about old times. She enjoyed playing games, especially Sorry with her grandkids. Sharon learned to crochet as a young child and enjoyed making things for family, including afghans in school colors when someone went off to college and more Christmas stockings than family can count. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, April 4, at 11:00 AM at the Brayfield-Gilbert Funeral Home in Sesser with Cousin Jim Muir officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 am until the time of the service at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will be at Maple Hill Cemetery in Sesser. As a breast cancer survivor, the family would like all donations in lieu of flowers be given to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (www.bcrf.org).
