Sharon Rae Schaeffer (Potts) of Riverside, Ohio, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family.

Sharon was born on July 2, 1941 in Fairborn, Ohio, the daughter of the late Raymond and Sarah Potts. In addition to her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by her sisters Shirley (Dwayne) Jones and her twin Karon (Mark) Neal.

Sharon is survived by her husband and high school sweetheart of 64 years, Donald Schaeffer; daughters Kelly (Russell) Ramsey, Rebecca (William) Toomey and her son James (Robin) Schaeffer; grandchildren Russell (Jamie) Ramsey Jr., Katie Ramsey, Danielle (Keith) Clark, Dawn Rebraca, Melinda Storie and Jacob Schaeffer. Sharon is also survived by her 10 great grandchildren, Rusty, Promis, Brayden, Sophia, Tristan, Noah, Remington, Koltyn, Eli and Easton.

Sharon graduated from Wilbur Wright High School in 1960 and retired from Mad River Transportation as a school bus driver.

Words cannot describe the wonderful, loving wife, mother and grandmother Sharon was. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

Public visitation will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton Xenia Rd) on Tuesday January 21, 2025 at 12:00 pm with funeral service to follow at 1:00 pm. She will be laid to rest at Willow View Cemetery.
