Sharon Kay Taylor peacefully passed away on October 18, 2025, surrounded by her three loving children. She was dressed in her favorite Kansas City Chiefs sweatshirt and comforted with her Kansas City Chiefs blanket, with the songs of Waylon Jennings playing. She had pictures of her two grandsons, Drake and Raylan, close by. She will be greatly missed by her grandsons, her daughter Wendy and her husband Dallas, her son Scott and wife Cathy, and her daughter Ashlee, a devoted daughter caring for her for several years.
Dementia is a thief robbing time and familiarity of family. The family is grateful she was able to see and say goodbye to loved ones before slipping into her longer illness.
Sharon should be remembered as a strong woman with grit and determination. She was a warrior, having faced difficult challenges throughout her life and pulling through each one. Her husband, Gary, died early in their marriage, and Sharon raised three children on her own. She worked multiple jobs to make ends meet. Sharon was devoted to the Kansas City Chiefs. She was an inspiration to many and was the epitome of a strong, independent woman. She will be missed.
The family will celebrate her life next month at a private reception. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in honor of Sharon Taylor to The Alzheimer's Drug Discovery Foundation via this link:

Please accept my deepest condolences to the family. We truly adored your mom/grandmother. Sharon was a long time family friend. We met Sharon who lived 2 doors down from us in Overland Park, KS in 1981. Her twin girls would sing the songs to "Annie" on our front porch. Pretty soon, our moms were the best of friends and that friendship lasted a lifetime. Sharon was absolutely resilient. In the early 80´s she was a single mom after the death of her husband. She was so amazing in the way she moved though the world. She was hysterical and always had us in stitches with her stories. I´ll always carry the sound of her voice and her laughter as a part of my memories. She brought joy to everyone who met her. She was generous and kind. She loved her family dearly and was an absolute gem to all who knew her. Rest in Paradise. You will be dearly missed.
