Sharon Lee Twiford

Twiford – Sharon L. Twiford, age 82, of Starke, Florida, passed away peacefully at her residence with her family by her side on August 16, 2025. Sharon was born on October 2, 1942, in Hyde Park, Maryland, to the late Harold and Dorothy Ellsworth. She was raised in Hyde Park and spent most of her early years there. Sharon attended and graduated from High School in Bel Air, Maryland. Shortly after High School, she enrolled at Santa Fe Community College, where she earned her Associate Degree in Nursing in 1987. Sharon married the love of her life, Audrey Twiford, Sr., on March 18, 1961, and together they shared 43 beautiful years. She dedicated over 20 years to the healthcare field as a Licensed Practical Nurse, serving faithfully at Brookwood Nursing Home, Su El's, Whispering Pines Care Center, and Windsor Manor. Sharon also worked at the Bradford County Telegraph for more than two years. A devoted member of Bayless Highway Baptist Church, Sharon found great joy in worshiping her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. More than 30 years ago, she and her family moved to Bradford County, where they built their forever home and a life filled with love, faith, and community. In her spare time, Sharon enjoyed fishing, playing board games with her great-granddaughter, and traveling throughout the United States. She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Audrey Twiford, Sr. her sister, Jean Overbay; and her brothers, Alvin and Gerald Orem.

Sharon is survived by her sons; Audrey Twiford, Jr. of Starke, FL; George (Kelly) Twiford of Madison, FL; brothers, Dean (Juanita) Hooper and Frederick (Wanda) Hooper both of Bellair, MD, grandchildren, Charles (Caroline) Twiford, Steven Twiford, Tammy Twiford, Cheryle Twiford, Travis (Cherie) Twiford , two great granddaughters along with many extended family members and friends

A Celebration of Sharon's life will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at 12:00 pm at Archie Tanner Memorial Chapel with Pastor Mike Conner officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 21, 2025 an hour prior at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the care and direction of V.
