Sharon Volpatti Obituary
New Alexandria
Sharon Anne (Scharf) Volpatti, beloved wife of Richard Daniel Volpatti, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2026, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Margaret Scharf; her brother, David Scharf; and her daughter, Nicole Volpatti Bail. Sharon is survived by her devoted husband, Richard; her loving son, Anthony William Volpatti; and her cherished granddaughter, Aislin Sophia Volpatti. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who will remember her with love. Sharon had a deep love of travel and treasured her adventures to Europe, Hawaii, and the National Parks. First and foremost, she was an animal lover, dedicating her time, resources, and compassion to helping homeless cats, rescue horses, and dogs in shelters. Her generosity extended to many nonprofit organizations that served both people and animals, including humane societies and libraries. Sharon was especially passionate about helping the less fortunate and quietly supporting causes that strengthened her community.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no public services. Interment will be private.
Those wishing to honor Sharons memory may donate to Second Chance Equine Association (Norvelt, PA), Wayward Whiskers (Greensburg, PA), or the New Alexandria Public (PA) Library. P.
