Sharon Voyles Obituary

Published by Legacy on Mar. 8, 2025.
FORT WORTH - Sharon Ann "Sam" Voyles passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2025 at the age of 54.
Visitation: 6:00 - 8:00 pm on Monday, March 10, 2025, in the Breyley Room at Mount Olivet Chapel. Funeral: 12:00 pm on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at Mount Olivet Chapel. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery.
Born August 3, 1970 in Fort Wainwright, Alaska to David and Gloria Matassa, Sam was baptized as an infant and raised in the Catholic faith during her childhood. As the child of an Air Force technical sergeant, she became accustomed to living in new places and split most of her school years between North Dakota and Texas.
Sam graduated with honors from Bailey Boswell High School in Saginaw, Texas. After high school she remained in the Dallas/Fort Worth area where she raised her daughter Kristen. After studying business at Tarrant County Junior College, she worked for the accounting department of Southwest Airlines in payroll.
She was baptized once again as an adult in a non-denominational bible centered spirit filled church, and was a member of Milestone Church in Keller, Texas.
Sam married Greg Dean Voyles on April 18, 2002 in Fort Worth, Texas. They loved going to church and bible study together, and loved to take road trips. She had a special place in her heart for shelter animals.
She enjoyed bowling up into her mid-twenties in a league along with her father, and also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, card games and was a huge Cowboys fan who never missed watching a game.
Sam was a MS Warrior and breast cancer survivor whose faith sustained her through her many challenges. Always with a positive attitude, she could find humor in any situation. She loved being a mom and loved being a grandmother even more; she never missed an opportunity to brag about her grandkids.
Sam was preceded in death by her father, David Matassa.
She is survived by her husband, Greg Voyles; mother, Gloria Matassa; daughter Kristen Neubauer and her husband, Josh; son, Nicholas Voyles; sister-in-law Pam Russell and her husband, John. She adored her grandchildren Lucius, Axel, Delilah, Jaxson and her many nieces and nephews.
Sam will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
