Sharon Wilhelm, 65, of Leesville, LA, passed away on July 31, 2025. Sharon was born to the late Melbourne "Buzz" Wilhelm and Ann Finch Wilhelm on February 12, 1960, in Shreveport Louisiana. Sharon was honored to be an army brat. Politics was a passion of hers. She was also very passionate about her sports, especially the LHS Wampus Cats, Milwaukee Bucks, Duke Blue Devils men's basketball and NASCAR. Sharon was a member of the Pilot Club of Leesville and enjoyed spending time with her Pilot sisters. She enjoyed helping any way she could to "Do more, Care more, Be more". Sharon retired from the Vernon Parish School Board as a food service manager after thirty-eight years of dedicated service. She loved Leesville and Vernon Parish deeply. Sharon volunteered at Gallery One Eleven and found joy in attending events, from parades downtown to performances at the Polk Outdoor Theater, as well as visiting with vendors at the Third Street Market. One of her passions was baking King Cakes and making pralines to share with those she loved. Her sister Sherri has already been told she must carry on the tradition of learning to make King Cake. Sharon loved her fur babies. Oreo the family cat crossed the rainbow bridge recently and was waiting for her. Maggie May, her catahoula mix, was her big baby and will miss her dearly. Sharon is survived by her best friend and identical twin Sheri; brother Ron Oliver, and sisters Sandra Hays and Susan Holbrook. Sharon shared a special bond with her niece Lisa Degley, her husband Josh and their son Asher. She looked forward to their visits and enjoyed playing games with Asher. Sharon also looked forward to visits from niece Melissa West, her husband Scott and their son Grant especially when she would bake her famous King Cake or cheesecake. Left behind is a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Her passing leaves a huge void in the lives of those who knew her.
