Sharry Jeanette Storjohann, 81, of Marshalltown, passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at the Iowa River Hospice Home.
Memorial services for Sharry will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Visitation will be prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the Iowa River Hospice Home. Sharry Johnson was born on May 11, 1944 in Marshalltown. She was the daughter of Robert and Esther (Landt) Johnson. Sharry graduated from Gladbrook High School in 1962, and then went on to the University of Iowa, graduating in 1967. On January 14, 1967, Sharry was united in marriage to Larry Storjohann in Gladbrook. Sharry retired from the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown in 2006 after thirty-one years as the head of the laboratory. Sharry was an avid reader, along with enjoying her garden, flowers and watching sports (Iowa Hawkeyes and Chicago Cubs). Sharry was a collector of antiques and enjoyed traveling. Sharry also was a music lover and enjoyed the Eagles, Fleetwood Mac and Linda Ronstadt to name a few. She will be known for being “wicked smart, and for her ability to speak her mind. Above everything else, Sharry cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren and family.
Sharry is survived by her children: Chris (Nicole Robinson) Storjohann of West Des Moines and Amy (Scott) Duffy of Waukee. Grandchildren: Aly and Ava Storjohann of Minnesota along with Isabelle Duffy of Chicago and Will Duffy of Iowa City: sister-in-law: Deb Johnson and nieces and nephew: Abby, Emily, Sam and Ann Storjohann. Along with her extended family: Beth Richards, Joann Richards and Sue (John) Hlas.
Sharry is preceded in death by her parents; brothers: David and Gary; and Mark Richards.
