Sharyn was born on August 18, 1947 in Saginaw, MI to Norman Carl and Lucille "Billie" (Schuhark) Von Oppen. She was married to Gary Gill on May 17, 1969.
Surviving are her twin daughters, Michelle (Mike) Huschen of Roanoke, IL and Kristine Gill of Seattle, WA; two grandsons, Logan Huschen of Benson, IL and Jordan Huschen of Roanoke, IL; her sister, Lynda (Rich) Wrobel of Scottsdale, AL and her niece, Dawn (Brandon) Wright and Madison, AL. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Sharyn graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Education and was a mathematics teacher for Sparland and Midland School Districts for over 35 years. She was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church in Chillicothe and she enjoyed her local book club, dancing, quilting, gardening, shopping and crafting.
Cremation rites will be accorded and a Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at 11am at St. Edward Catholic Church in Chillicothe. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 from 4pm to 6pm at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe as well as hour prior to Mass at the church. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in memory of Sharyn Gill to support leukemia research at the University of Chicago Medicine.
