Shaun Patrick Cullimore

Shaun Patrick Cullimore, a beacon of light and a true embodiment of resilience, passed away on February 10th, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of joy and inspiration. Born on January 5th, 1972, in Lansing, Michigan, Shaun's journey was a testament to the power of positivity and the strength of the human spirit.
Shaun's educational journey was marked by his involvement and achievements in the performing arts. A graduate of J.W. Sexton High School, he was a vibrant part of the theatre and musical productions, where his passion for performance earned him a well-deserved varsity letter. His love for the arts and communication led him to an exciting internship with Q106 radio station while studying at Lansing Community College. His love for music set the foundation for a career that would later see him become a beloved Online DJ. A Star Wars fanatic at heart, he could often be found debating fan theories or sharing his favorite moments from the epic saga. Shaun also relished the excitement of travel, with special trips to the casino being among his favorite getaways.
Despite being diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy at a young age, Shaun's spirit remained unbreakable. He faced his challenge with a smile that never faded and a sense of humor that could light up the darkest of rooms. Shaun's life was a masterclass in courage and determination. He never allowed his sickness to define him or dampen his spirit. Instead, he chose to live each day with a joy that was contagious, spreading happiness and laughter to all who had the pleasure of crossing his path.
Shaun was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Donald and Kris (Sleep) Cullimore, an Aunt Judith Schultz, and his cousin like brother Matthew Schultz. He is survived by his sisters, Charlene Cullimore-Root, Judy Joppie, and Amanda Cullimore; his brother-in-law Jim Root; nieces and nephew, Kaitlyn (Chris), Kameron, Megan, and Erin; brother-like-cousin, Trevor Schultz; aunts and uncles, David Schultz, Julia Lootens, Robert (Debra) Cullimore, Bill (Jean) Cullimore, Michael (Jaye) Cullimore, Patricia Humphrey, Pamela Cullimore, Sandy (Mike) Wilson, Dottie Cullimore and Carol Lootens, and many loved cousins and friends.
Shaun's life was a reminder that happiness is a choice and that, even in the face of adversity, we can choose to be a light for others.
A celebration of Shaun's life will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at 11:30 AM at the Palmer, Bush & Jensen Family Funeral Homes, Delta Chapel 6301 W. St. Joe Highway with Chaplain Lyle Heaton officiating. Star Wars apparel is encouraged and will help honor one of Shaun's greatest joys. Inurnment will follow at Delta Center Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Tuesday at the funeral home at 10:30 AM. Memorials may be made to The Muscular Dystrophy Association in memory of Shaun at Ways to Give | Muscular Dystrophy Association.
