Shawn was born on May 31, 1991 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Jackie Scott and Judy (Doyal) Byrd. Shawn graduated from Henrietta High School in 2009 and was self-employed in the construction business. Shawn was a member of the Camp Fire Boys and Girls, Boy Scouts Pack 92. During his youth he participated in parades and rodeos in the local areas. He was crowned King of Nocona Grasshoppers Days, Ryan Brick Street Days and Waurika Snake Hunt. He was the first boy to be permitted to compete, and the fire department opened with the King Contest which he proudly served. He made his first Chili cook off at Ryan Brick Street Days when he was young. During the Ryan Rodeo Days he was Best Dressed Cowboy. He won several plaques and trophies for parades and rodeos he participated in, Clay County Youth Rodeo and Clay County Pioneer Reunion. He worked as a laborer for different people from about the age of 8 when his older brother set him up to do yard mowing and paid for his first lawnmower. He was a business boy at a very early age and went to a bank president on his own to borrow money to buy his first horse, "Big Sky". The banker asked him if he had collateral and Shawn didn't know what that was. He was told he would have to have a cosigner. Shawn will be missed by many family and friends.
