Shawn Michael Chambers, 68, passed away very unexpectedly on October 20, 2025. He was born on August 25, 1957, in Clarion, PA. And although he had lived in several different states over the years, Tennessee was home, having lived here for 30 plus years. The only time there was a problem was as an avid sports fan when the Titans were playing the Steelers.
He was a proud graduate of Purdue University, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 1980.
He was a dedicated employee of Ingersoll-Rand and Trane Corporation for 42 years, traveling all over the world in different capacities for them.
He was a loving father to his three children, Andy, Dan, and Erin, and spent many hours when they were growing up at different ball games and musical performances.
His grandchildren were his joy, and now that he had retired, he loved spending as much time as possible with them. His most cherished name was Pappi.
His happy place was the beach or the lake. Anytime he could soak up the sun while looking at the ocean was a good day. A close second was out on his pontoon boat, floating on Old Hickory Lake, reading a book. Because of his love for travel, he had recently completed his goal of traveling to all 50 states. He had also made it to all the provinces of Canada except one.
Shawn never met a stranger. He talked to everyone and enjoyed meeting people. He was a good friend to many and tried to help others whenever he could.
Shawn came from a large family having six siblings. He always liked to say family first and tried to be a good brother, uncle, and son.
He was the son of the late Robert Chambers and Janet Chambers Wunderlin. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mary Chambers; children Andy Chambers, Dan Chambers (Megan Seger), Dr Erin Johnsen (Joey Johnsen), and grandchildren Hep, Hazel, and Harvey Johnsen and Bruce Chambers.
Also, his siblings: Robert Chambers, Sherry Zielinski, Rick Chambers, Lori Joy, and Russ Chambers, as well as many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
A private Celebration of Life will be held on November 29th to commemorate his passing.
