Shawn Eric Dunbar

Shawn Eric Dunbar, age 57, of Greenwood, Indiana, passed away on Friday, September 20, 2024, in Greenwood. Shawn was born on April 14, 1967, in Indianapolis, Indiana to Eric and Beverly (Hill) Dunbar.
Shawn was known for his kindness, generosity, and great sense of humor. He had a passion for fishing and was always eager to visit the casino. A devoted sports fan, he could often be found watching football or cheering on the Indiana University basketball team. He enjoyed classic television shows like Sanford and Son and Married with Children, and loved to unwind with a scratch-off ticket or a good comedy.
Shawn is survived by his mother, Beverly (Hill) Dunbar of Greenwood, Indiana, his children, Justin Beaton (Nikki) of Indianapolis, Indiana, Stephanie Carter (Nick) of New Palestine, Indiana, and Megan Dunbar (Cody) of Greenwood, Indiana. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren: Colin, Hunter, Conner, Kennedi, Mason, Kensington, Ireland, and Riley. He is also survived by his sister, Michelle Dunbar (Jamie) of Franklin, Indiana, and his nephews, Jay Basler (Jenna) of Franklin, Indiana, and Tanner Heth (Meiara) of Whiteland, Indiana. He leaves behind a great-nephew and great-niece, Hank and Max, along with several aunts and uncles.
Shawn was preceded in death by his father, Eric Dunbar, and his grandparents.
