Shawn Patrick Gau, 48, Algoma. Shawn passed away unexpectedly on March 10, 2025. Born in Algoma, WI, on June 19, 1976, to the late Kenneth and Patricia (Loberg) Gau, Shawn lived a life filled with laughter, love, and adventure. He would have celebrated 25 years of marriage to the love of his life, Stephanie Eytcheson, this August-a partnership built on mutual respect, endless support, and shared dreams.
Shawn was a hard-working man, pouring his heart into all he did. Always the first to lend a hand with a smile on his face. An avid hunter and outdoor enthusiast, Shawn found joy in being outside. Whether it was camping, going up north, scrap picking, or riding his beloved Harley. He was a proud father, he cherished every moment spent with his boys, embracing the joy they brought to his life. He enjoyed collecting Matchbox cars and a special love for 90's Chevys. Shawn lived in the moment, doing "Shawn Gau shit."
Shawn is survived by his wife, Stephanie Gau; his children, Alex (Mikayla) Gau, Kewaunee; Kyle (Grey) Gau, Wautoma; a future baby boy grandson; sister-in-law / "bonus daughter" Lyndzi Eytcheson, Bailey's Harbor; niece, Cali Meverden, Algoma; brothers, Greg (Tina) Gau, Brussels; Tom (Sue) Gau, Black Creek; sisters, Brenda (Joe) Bott, Wrightstown; Tracie (Mark) Gau, Sevastopol; as well as by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Patricia Gau; brother, Mark Gau; mother-in-law, Rebecca Eytcheson; niece, Brianna Magle; and grandfather, Edward Gau.
