Maynard O. Kuehl, age 88, Kewaunee, passed away at home on Saturday, July 12, 2025. He was born on April 18, 1937, to the late Orville and Lorna (Hoffman) Kuehl. On September 7, 1957, he married Janice Kolarik. They had three children together. Janice preceded him in death on May 27, 1978. Maynard married Ethel Huber on February 1, 1979, in Norman, WI.
Maynard was a hardworking and devoted man who was involved in the community in many ways. He started Kuehl Seed Farm Inc. in West Kewaunee. He was a member of the Wisconsin Crop Improvement Association Board and the Pro-Seed Genetics Board. Maynard was a Union State Bank Director and was also on the Kewaunee Hospital Board. Continuing with his community involvement, he was the Town Clerk for West Kewaunee, a member of the Kewaunee Lion's Club, and a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Maynard was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. He was a charter member of the Muskrat City Sportsman Club. He deeply enjoyed hunting on his land, especially in Missouri. Travel was another passion Maynard shared with his family, especially taking trips to their house in Florida, or anywhere else the road may take them. His greatest joy was spending time and making memories with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Maynard is survived by his loving wife, Ethel; his children, Julie (Dan) Forslund, Suamico, Linda (Glenn) Mueller, Kewaunee, and Randall (Carla) Kuehl, Kewaunee; grandchildren, Sarah (Matt) Peronto, Eric Mueller (Fiancee Racheal), Mikayla (Alex) Gau; great grandchildren, Addison, Aubrey, and Arianna Peronto, Remi Mueller, and Maxwell Gau; he is further survived by his sister Marilyn Biever; nephew Kelly (Jeanne) Biever, and their children, Jack and Katherine Biever; and sister-in-law Laverne Selner.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Janice (Kolarik) Kuehl; his parents Orville and Lorna (Hoffman) Kuehl; and brother-in-law, Robert Biever.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, July 17, 2025, from 3:00p - 8:00p at Kinnard Funeral & Cremation Services - Kewaunee with a Prayer Service at 7:00p. Visitation will continue Friday, July 18, 2025, from 9:00a - 11:00a at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Funeral service at 11:00a with Pastor Matthew Sprunger officiating. Burial will take place after the service at Riverview Cemetery.
