Shawn Webber Kipfer of Punta Gorda, Florida, completed her earthly journey on May 19th, 2025. She was a dedicated wife to her husband of 25 years, Dave Kipfer; loving mother to her daughter Anna Kate Duly; devoted daughter to Kay Bowen Webber Cochran and to the memory of her father Jan Webber; a caring sister to Gina Webber Wilde; treasured aunt to her nieces Dylan Wilde and Clio Wilde; a doting "Nonni" to her 4 beloved grandchildren Harper, Bowen, Jackson, and Lily; attentive "bonus mom" to her stepchildren Kathryn Kipfer, Laura Kipfer (Harla) and David Kipfer; and a committed caregiver to her many rescued and adopted animal friends.

Shawn's thoughtful nature ensured she remembered and marked each birthday and special occasion in the lives of those closest to her. She made sure Santa filled the stockings on Christmas morning and the Easter bunny left full baskets for all the children she held in her heart. Many a birthday wish was made on candles placed atop one of her delicious homemade red velvet cakes. Her famous cornbread stuffing graced the table at every holiday gathering; the meal did not feel complete without it.

Born in Memphis, TN, Shawn and her family moved to Starkville, then Columbus, MS. She graduated from S.D. Lee High School in Columbus, where she was Homecoming Queen, a varsity cheerleader, and a devoted friend to her fellow students.

Shawn was a member of Delta Gamma sorority at her beloved Mississippi State University, where she graduated with honors, gaining her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in psychology. Shawn pursued a career in elementary education and counseling for many years, then dedicated herself to working with animals before enjoying an active retirement alongside her husband Dave.

Shawn treasured trips and adventures, especially visits to family and cruises with Dave. She swam with schools of bright fish in the Caribbean, witnessed brilliant sunsets over tropical seas, and loved to relax on the beach. Shawn delighted in the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren and was committed to documenting and sharing their lives with friends and family both near and far.

Shawn was a woman of deep faith who believed in the loving goodness of God and found solace and community in the Episcopal church. She will be dearly missed by all who knew the warmth of her laughter, her soft southern drawl, and her dedication to her loved ones.

A Celebration of Shawn's remarkable life will be held in the coming weeks. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the MSU Foundation, Inc., with designation to the Shawn Webber Kipfer Memorial Scholarship: PO Box 6149, Mississippi State, MS 39762 or online at:  www.msufoundation.com. Otherwise, please feel welcome to donate to your local animal rescue in her memory.
